APR 2020 - Connecting in a Changing World

Online group co-reflection sessions

QLEWN hosted on-line group co-reflection sessions via Zoom twice a week during April, recognising the importance of connecting the Lived Experience workforce in the changing COVID-19 pandemic environment. Feedback from participants of the online group co-reflection sessions indicated a strong desire for the continuance of co-reflective spaces (within and beyond the COVID-19 response). As such, monthly QLEWN Peer Workers Community of Practice (CoP) and QLEWN Peer Leaders and Peer Supervisors Community of Practice (CoP) groups were established. Please refer to current member events for details of these sessions.

MAY 2018 - Building Foundations Forum

Consultation with the Queensland Lived Experience Workforce

It was the intention of the Forum to be as inclusive as possible and have broad representation, particularly of Regional & Remote and Special Interest Groups. The Forum was held on the 1st May 2018 and was attended by over 70 delegates from across Queensland. The Building Foundations Forum (as detailed in report) evidenced an overwhelming consensus in support of establishing a state wide body to ensure future support, best practice and the wellbeing of the Lived Experience workforce.

QLEWN acknowledges the First Australians, who are the Traditional Owners of the lands, winds, and waters of the Country we work on.  We pay our respects to their elders – past, present, and emerging; and we pay our respects to the long and ongoing connection and relationship they have with this Country.  We are grateful for the privilege of sharing this land and express our sorrow for the historic and continued cost of that sharing to First Nations People.  We acknowledge that this land was never ceded.  We know that recovery is not fully possible where systemic injustice and dispossession exist.  In the interests of creating a genuinely equitable and just Australia, Brook RED seeks to walk a path of continual learning, development, and practice that contributes to reconciliation.
